Steffen Koenig "Rigidity dimension"

By a result of Auslander, every finite dimensional algebra A can be written as eEe for an algebra E of finite global dimension and an idempotent e. By a construction due to Iyama, E can be chosen to be the endomorphism ring of a generator-cogenerator over A. The quality of the connection between E and A can be measured in terms of the dominant dimension of E. Varying E, the rigidity dimension of A is the supremum of dominant dimensions of all E occuring.

In the talk, upper bounds and finiteness of rigdim(A) will be discussed, as well as invariance under stable equivalence and some examples.

This is ongoing joint work with Hongxing Chen, Ming Fang, Otto Kerner and Kunio Yamagata.
