These heavy shells include some of the world's largest gastropods. They are high-spired, with a long siphonal canal. The animals are
carnivorous and mainly eat other mollusks. The trapezium horse conch has
spiral rows of large tubercles at periphery of spire whorls and shoulder of body whorl. It has also strong growth ridges.
Habitat: shallow waters near coral, tropical Indo-Pacific region.
