High spatial resolution spectroscopy of the solar chromosphere

Using the 1-m Swedish Solar Telescope we obtain simultaneous high spatial resolution spectrograms in the H-alpha line and in the 866.2 nm Ca II triplet line. Time series covering active regions show activity such as dynamic fibrils. Doppler shifts are measured and compared with recent high cadence imaging series. Furthermore time series of the quiet sun reveals a high degree of activity. This confirms the dynamical viewof the "quiet" chromosphere.
