Getting to Vancouver
Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is serviced by domestic and international airlines.
The University of British Columbia (UBC) is located 20 minutes from downtown
Vancouver and approximately 30 minutes from Vancouver International Airport (YVR).
UBC can be reached from YVR by car, taxi or public transportation.
Public Transportation
The overall travel time by public transportation from YVR to UBC is approximately 50 minutes.
The fare is $8.75 CAD and tickets can be purchased at automated ticketing machines at the Canada Line station.
Payment is accepted in coins, bills. Debit and credit cards are accepted by most machines.
Take the Canada Line (departure just outside the International Terminal) to Oakridge / 41st Station Northbound and
take the TransLink bus (# 49, 99, 480, 41 or 43) at West 41st at Ash St. Westbound to
UBC. Alternatively, delegates can get to UBC by getting off the Canada Line at Broadway,
cross the street to the North side of Broadway and catching the westbound 99 B-line bus.
Taxi services
are available at the domestic and international terminal. Taxi signs guide arriving
guests to the taxi departure bays just outside the terminals. Taxis charge a metered rate based on time and
distance travelled. The approximate fare from YVR to UBC is $30.00 - $40.00 CAD.
